6. Setting Up The FIC MB02, Continued

The device has slots for two SO-DIMMs.

A little less than ten minutes later all the components are in place

Once all components and the CPU cooling system have been assembled, the keyboard and the top cover can be replaced. The keyboard and cover are affixed to the device's underside by four screws in all. Finally, the hard drive can be installed in the tray on the device's underside.

The hard drive and plastic mounting frame

The materials needed for assembly are in the box. The mounting frame, consisting of a plastic sheet a fraction of a millimeter thick with two tin rails, does not look very stable at all.

Now you can screw on the hard drive cover, insert the battery and install the operating system.

All in all, it took us less than half an hour to assemble the entire Centrino notebook. Compared to a desktop PC system created from components, a dealer can assemble far more notebook systems in an hour. This has a positive effect on costs.
