Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Map Pack Also $15
Same deal as before -- two old maps and three new ones for 1200 MS Points.
Even though many balked at the $15 charge for the first Modern Warfare 2 "Stimulus" map pack, Activision and Infinity Ward hauled in a quick $2.5 million early on from the DLC. Now it's time for round two.
Microsoft's Larry Hryb had Infinity Ward's Ryan Bowling on his podcast talking about the next map pack for the game, which is dubbed the "Resurgence" map pack, according to Joystiq.
Just like the previous map pack, this upcoming one will pack two old maps from Call of Duty 4 and three new ones. They are:
- Vacant -- the wide open Russian office complex from CoD4
- Strike -- the urban town surrounded by hotels from CoD4
- Carnival -- an abandoned carnival area with a Ferris wheel, fun house and other attractions
- Trailer Park -- full of "super tight corridors" and featuring a pool ("Mobile Estates," Bowling calls it)
- Fuel -- a "sniper haven" based in and around an oil refinery
They'll be coming on June 3, and like the last ones they'll be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for some time before getting the go-ahead to hit he PS3 and PC. And yes, this one will also be 1200 Microsoft Points or $15.

I don't understand why they only do the xbox first. If it is an entire game I can understand, as a marketing strategy, but if you buy this you already have the game on a platform.

It's Activision's way of saying: screw you PC and PS3 users, say goodbye to the times when you only had to pay for the game itself. I guess Activision isn't content with making a 500% profit within the first few weeks, they want to milk the cow to death.
BF BC2 costs as much as both DLCs here in Romania, but has a lot more to offer, like dedicated servers!
I play MW2, and it has really good gameplay(especially in Hardcore mode), graphics, it's optimized(it can run on my notebook), but everything else is crap.
I would have bought the DLC if it added dedicated servers and anti-cheat. I know they're too lazy, but they should at least put in a kick-voting system, for fuck's sake!
As far as I know (at least here in South Africa) the players aren't even playing MW2, tournaments and events and serious gamers are still competing on MW1. So unless they support these guys by allowing dedicated servers, there isnt really a point to bringing it out on PC anyway. (except of course those handful that play on the crappy automated online system). Just my 2c

i actualy got the BF BC2 huge fan of them but the blur gray thing the game does is not working at all. I cant play the game only becose of it. its actualy retarded they still got it from the ps3. if they make it the same for the 1943 im sad to say it will not be ownd by me ;(.

I remember when games added new content in patches, online was free, map packs game once every few months. The only money you paid was to buy the game, nothing else.

Yeah, idiots apparently are willing to buy it, so it's not surprising. I'd never pay anything for a map pack. They should be supporting those who buy the game, not the other way around. And then the chumps who buy it say that intelligent people like us shouldn't get mad and that we don't have to buy it, But like you said, it sets a precedence. Full-fledged expansion packs used to be $15. I blame Bungie and Microsoft, they're the first company to charge a ridiculous price for a map pack. But this takes it to a whole new level, and Bungie at least eventually released the maps for free. Giant companies ruin gaming and game companies. In comparison, when Bungie was independent, they released a full expansion for Myth 2 for free. I didn't believe it was possible for a company to be worse than EA. I remember when Activision and Vivendi merged, people said it would be worse than EA, but I didn't believe it. I've been proven wrong for once, so props to those prophets. Can't wait for them to do the same with Starcraft 2. Already releasing 3 separate games at $60 a pop. I'm surprised they didn't charge for Beta access too. I saw people are selling keys on ebay. Wouldn't surprise me if they were Blizzard/Activision employees selling them.
This is what a lack of dedicated servers, and a lack of SDK was all about, had nothing to do with the user experience, it was about being able to screw people over for a few shitty maps.

This makes Ubisoft seem like a wonderful company with their Far Cry 2 editor. At least they only released ONE DLC, and it was "only" $10.

I think that paying for DLC isn't a problem if a company releases a good mapbuilder with the game. That way we'd get community for free (or paid, but I've never heard of such insanity) and professionally made works for a fee.

Of course it's too much: only 3 new maps for $15, that's $5 per map while the original game had 16 maps for $60, that's $3.75 per map and also included the development costs of the game.

Agreed there is defiantly no reason that it should be $15. I normally buy the map packs but I don’t think I’m going to get this one because I’m tired of being raped by their prices.
another 15 dollars? you know i could probably buy a way better game on steam for 15 dollars or get 2 games 1 for 10 and 1 for 5.... not worth it at all
no ones gonna fucking buy it, instead of giving you all the options to choose what fucking gameplay you want you have to play those maps on a randomized game setting. and mw2 didnt realize a lot of there gameplays suck ballz.

I bought MW2 for $30-35 from ZZF and have no plans on putting any more money into it. These maps should have been included from the get go.
I didn't buy the first one because DLC's should not cost 15 dollars. That is half the cost of an expansion and I don't see 5 maps being anywhere near worth the money. I really am confused at who they think they are, with shoving out another map pack like this for 15 dollars.

Last map pack I ever bought for a game was Battlefiend 2 special forces and Armored fury. With that you got like 6 new maps, new vehicles, new weapons, and new tactics like the ability to use a grappling hook to scale building walls and stuff. THAT was a map pack, and it only cost $20 I think. But, 3 new maps and 2 old ones? Likely scrapped together from the cutting room floor during development? Wow, some people are suckers.

Well that sucks. I understand most PC Gamers dont endorse this game because of no dedicated servers and I agree. But the game is sooo damn good and addictive (multiplayer)! Especially if you use EYEFINITY TECHNOLOGY to spread the Field of View (FOV) in game its a different game. Then again every game is different with 3 23 inch Acers using ATI's eyefinity to get huge FOV! Check out my channel on youtube/delanoche21 to see how it looks in-game.
