Amazon Profit More Than Doubles
Amazon.com reported on Wednesday a huge rise in quarterly net profit, boosted by a 42% rise in revenue during its important holiday season. The Internet retailer said fourth-quarter net profit rose 112 percent to $207 million, or 48 cents per share, from $98 million, or 23 cents per share, a year earlier. Sales rose 42% to $5.67 billion in the quarter.
