Despite foundry quotes for micro electro-mechanical system (MEMS) production at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) being much higher than other MEMS-specialized foundries, the company is drawing more customers because of its proven quality and timely delivery. Industry sources indicated that TSMC quotes its MEMS foundry service at about $600,000, which is a four- to five-fold premium over that of other foundries.
