A4G Accidently Advertised Sony PSP-4000?
Accessories 4 Gamers advertised the PSP-4000, and then said it was a "mistake."
Whoops. The latest digital issue of MCV Magazine advertises a LittleBigPlanet Starter Pack on page 17, sporting a few cool LBP-themed accessories such as a carrying pouch and a sheet of stickers. Seated behind the LBP kit--within the same advert--is a Play'n'Style kit for the PSPgo, featuring a nice leather (?) pouch, a strap, and earphones.
However, towards the bottom of the page, the advert claims that the displayed items are for the PSP-N1000 (PSPgo), PSP-1000, PSP-2000, PSP-3000, and the PSP-4000. News of the fresh advert was on fire over the weekend, and rightfully so: Sony fanboys have been keeping track of the new PSP-4000 talk for a few months now. This advert looked like a good indication that perhaps the cat was let out of the proverbial bag, and dreams of a new UMD-loaded PSP were really coming true.
To find out the details, Negative Gamer contacted the firm behind the advert, Accessories 4 Gamers. The company's license manager Angela Jones said the PSP-4000 button was a mistake on their end. In fact, she claims that she didn't know how that "mistake" happened, and that Sony isn't working on a PSP-4000 "as far as she knew." Sony, like clockwork, doesn't comment on rumors or anything outside the official PR belt (despite roses and rolls of money).
Is it a mistake? It's possible, but highly unlikely. There's a good chance that the entire ad wasn't supposed to run in that issue, but was slated for publication sometime in late Q1 2010 yet somehow fell into the mix. Most gamers have seen this kind of "slip up" before however, usually with the "mistake" becoming the real deal later down the road. Then again, it's possible that the guy/gal setting up the ad knows nothing about gaming, and the editor was asleep during the final approval process.

It's hard to fight for the Go with this kind of stuff hehehe, but honestly, so far I'm extremely happy with my Go, it's just the mp3 player I've been waiting (because of it's nice blue tooth functionality (Samsung players SUCK compared to PSP Go (extremely poor antenna))) and I also get a quite cool mobile gaming device... true... I payed some premium for it... so be it... totally worth it, the next time someone says Go sucks challenge him to put his 1000-3000 (or 4000 in a few months) in his pants pocket and walk comfortably
who cares, not like it can play crysis or anything. FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!
woot let bring back a-track!!!!!

Is that a PSP-Go in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Chances are there is a PSP-4000. I've followed Sony for years now especially in their gaming devision, and if there's anything they suck at...it's keeping their secret weapons from the public. The PS3 slim anyone? Or how about the price cut on the PS3? Or even the PSP-Go for that matter. All that jazz was known to the public before it was publicly announced. Chances are, the PSP-4000 will be announced within 6 months.
Is there a hack for the 3000 firmware yet? My nephew keeps breaking the UMD's and I need to mod his to preserve his game library.
+1 Winterblade.
My guess is the psp-4000 will be the same as the 3000 but with bluetooth support
Well, im sure sales will be just as good as those of the Go.
Eg, nothing.
"dreams of a new UMD-loaded PSP were really coming true"
wow, how F'd up must the PSP Go's system have been to have us dreaming for that clunky power hungry slow media...
