PlayStation Intros Contestants for Reality Show
It might not be as bad as a Guitar Hero or World of Warcraft reality TV show, but really, how interesting will this be to watch?
Last autumn, Sony announced that it was looking for avid gamers for the cast of a new reality show called, "The Tester." This week, Sony introduced the cast of characters that will be competing for their dream job, a tester for Sony's PlayStation games.
The series will follow the group of gamers as they face-off in a series of elimination challenges designed to test their mental toughness, endurance, and video game knowledge as they compete for the position in PlayStation's Quality Assurance department in San Diego.
The 11 contestants range from between 22- and 36-years-old and occupations include a cheerleading coach (who's not afraid to "turn on the charm" to win), a paramedic, a student and a waiter. I hope the guy in the red and black stripes wins. He kind of reminds of, J.D. Williams, that guy who played that jerk kid, Bodie, in 'The Wire.'

I vote for the cheerleading coach who's not afraid to "turn on the charm".
how do i sign up? haha
I vote for the fat guy in the blue shirt with breasts larger then a few of the gals.
The guy with the red shirt, vest and beard looks creepy, I'd say he's a pedophile.
really?
The only good thing about this, is I have a face to blame the next time a bug slips through
Ugh... why? Can't the people who have no lives , you know , not throw they're "No lives" knowledge in front of people?
WCG Ultimate Gamer wannabe?
WCG Ultimate Gamer wannabe?
So the paramedic wants to trade in saving real lives for taking digital ones?
Well, the PS3 needs exposure, and you need game testers to test games, so why not? People love watching dumb reality shows.

The girl in the upper-left corner was on WCG, I forget her name, she was awesome though!
I'm more impressed that they found real looking people. They could have stuffed it full of chiseled from marble men and women. This may be one of the most real reality shows yet!
How about they test Modern Warfare 2 and get the bugs out....hyooo
i don't think i want to watch it because watching it in front of my family or friends would make me regret being a gamer...
Did u guys know Bush's election was Video games' fault... how ? beats me... ask the journalists.. im sure they'll find something...
And how many of those can actually contribute something REAL?
All the beta testing and stuff promoted more and more in the recent years are a joke compared to the 'closed-doors' sessions.
Real testing involves you encountering crashes or barely playable game at worst. It requires lots and lots of hard work. You need to document and contribute on the stuff you want them to change and fix.
It's no just a "Hey, I will get to play for money!".
Most likely you will not want to ever play that game once it's out since you know it already inside-out and the changes done to it.
I wonder if any of those actually know how to do a proper bugreport ?
This begs the question of who will fill the position in the (un?)likely event that the show is pulled from the air due to poor ratings?
