Collectible Playboy Mags, Centerfolds in Mafia II
There are copies of Playboy magazine and related centerfolds in Mafia II, just don't tell mom.
2K Games announced Monday that gamers will be able to collect more than 50 vintage Playboy magazines and centerfolds in the upcoming game, Mafia II. The press release distributed today made Playboy out to be more than just a boobie mag, saying that the iconic magazine "served as the definitive guide to lifestyle and culture for men since December 1953." What? The mag has articles?
"Mafia II is set when Playboy first came into vogue and features characters whose style and attitudes mirror content from our early issues," said Playboy magazine's Editorial Director Jimmy Jellinek. "We're excited to bring an element of authenticity to the game that is unmatched in the men's publishing category."
The upcoming sequel, a sandbox-style third person shooter set from 1945 to 1955, is currently in development by 2K Czech, the same team behind the original Mafia title. The game is slated for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC, and is expected to hit retail shelves in Q3 2010.
Knowing Take-Two Interactive's (parent company of 2K Games) love for Hot Coffee, Mafia II players may find additional hidden content other than Playboy mags and centerfolds...
