Kinect Beta Info Leaked with Screens, Video
Kinect Beta participants are ignoring Microsoft's Terms and Conditions, releasing images and videos.
Recently we reported that Microsoft was supposedly distributing invites to a closed beta program for Kinect. At the time, the invites were distributed through the Microsoft Connect channel, the company's service for gathering customer feedback on its products. However the legitimacy of the emails was questionable given the hype surrounding the device and the opportunity it posed for email-based malware developers.
But apparently the Microsoft invites were legit, and despite the virtual NDA, beta users are taking snapshots and uploading videos of the new dashboard that will go live with the upcoming motion-sensing hardware in November. According to a snapshot of Microsoft's beta rules (apparently broken), the hardware is also part of the program and is currently "being packed."
Screenshots of the new interface show a revamped Avatar editor, a flatter presentation, a new mini-guide, and re-designed, slimmed-down avatars that look less... goofy. Beta testers are also reporting that they will receive Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, and Kinect Joy Ride later for testing purposes--we expect to see more of these games soon when beta testers take them for a spin.
As seen below, an Xbox 360 gamer by the name of psycho419 originally uploaded a video of the Dashboard to YouTube. Apparently the clip was captured and re-posted by the current YouTube user (vgrvideos) before psycho419 removed his/her clip. If a black screen appears below, you'll know Microsoft has swung its mighty Ban-Hammer, eliminating any evidence of the Kinect beta.

I sold my xbox 360, probably the best move I have done.
You'd think these idiots would at least wait until they had the Kinect hardware in hand before violating the NDA and posting captures of the new dashboard. Breaking the NDA seems like a pretty sure-fire way to make sure that Microsoft removes your name from the list of testers to send hardware to - especially when your freaking gamertag is staring them in the face in the video you posted.
@Abs, Some people think consoles games are fun, don't urinate on their parade.
@Ted, +1 my thoughts exactly, I was watching the video and thinking "Wait, 1:32 long? Are they gonna show anything good?" The fact that the user broke an NDA for this is pretty sad.
Wow... what an idiot. Seriously? Violating an NDA like this is probably going to get you kicked off of Live and possibly console banned. The guy should have at least blacked out his gamer tag!
Well I guess this guy can afford to be banned and excluded from future beta testing. Oh well, since when do people give a crap about rules
why people cant apreciate this opportunities in life to just play with the thing and do what they were told to do!!
first: it was probably given for free to test
second: not everybody has this chance
third: what does he really wants? Gizmondo to pay him 5,000 for more details about it?
Just not worth being blacklisted in the beta tester list for this video. Just not worth it.
This is just the interface the peripherals have not been delivered yet. Microsoft may see this and stop it.
pr alert
Nah this is all publicity and Microsoft loves it. Funny thing is that Microsoft may show some kind of resentment towards it and against 'terms and conditions' but come on guys they know the reality that people will upload snapshots and videos regardless.
It's all a publicity stunt.
This Kinect thing though does look good....
