PICTURED: Motorola DROID Shadow Found at Gym
A Motorola DROID Shadow has turned up at a gym.
Over the last month or so, a cell phone that was supposedly found at a bar has caused quite the ruckus. Something tells us this Motorola DROID Shadow that was discovered in a gym won't get quite the same amount of attention.
Gizmodo has posted a photograph of what is allegedly the Motorola DROID Shadow. The pictures were taken at a gym before whoever owned the device came back to get it. The phone reportedly packs a 4.1-inch screen, TI OMAP 3630 processor (a 720MHz ARM Cortex A8), 8GB internal storage and an 8-megapixel camera.
Still no word on a release date (other than June/July) but we're slowly getting more and more information about this new Froyo device from Motorola. Gizmodo reports that the device was spotted at a Verizon corporate gym in New York.

I guess it won't get the same attention. This sit he first comment?
Ugh.. getting REAAAALLY corny. Seriously.
I like it more than the current Motorola DROID. There's too much going on with the DROID, almost over-designed IMO. I like what I see with the Shadow. Also it look like Motorola re-designed the launch button on the bottom of the screen that pulls up your apps screen and contacts. Looks better.
Whoops?
/Sarcasm
Why are all these new and unreleased phones becoming "lost" and then "found" by JUST the right people to make a story out of it?

Do NOT bring the first phenomenon to Tom's!!!
We don't want it here!
On topic: I would be surprised if this made any kind of news other than tech sites, and would be doubly surprised if motorola raided a Gizmodo editors home over it.
"that was supposedly found at a bar"
What is this 'supposedly'? Has Apple managed to change history?
720MHz, what is this 2009? 1ghz+ or NO DEAL!
I wonder how much was paid for this picture....
720MHz, what is this 2009? 1ghz+ or NO DEAL!
My phone is 528MHz and it's plenty fast.
please stm1185, this processor matches or outperforms the 1 ghz snapdragon processor in everyway. You see, the overall closk speed of a processor means very little, if nothing at all. Its all in the architecture, and the OMAP 3630 architecture is top notch. If you really want to see the performance of a processor, then look at stuff like 3D Benchmark tests, etc
Ohhh come on this PR stunt of "oops i let the (insert electronic gadget here) is getting in the latest trend of marketing strategies.
First device in a bar, then the same device gets dissected in vietnam, and lastly, the droid shadow in a Gym.
Well how about leaving a cell phone in a movie theater? Is that the next stunt?
Aniway, the phone looks pretty cool. Nice specs. As someone posted, clock for clock is not everything in the processor's specs and those TI OMAP quite show you that.

exactly what i was thinking
As always, Apple does it first, then the rest follow. Apparently this applies to "losing" new mobile phone products in public places as well!

it could be motorola taking a jab at apple.
you have no idea how many phones i find left behind at the gym per month.

or maybe the guy actually did forget his phone. Those coked up exects would leave there head places if it wasnt attached to their body...and wasnt necessary to do more coke.
lol sorry
this viral marketing started by Apple is getting a bit silly now..

Since it can generate really nice 3D graphics, maybe it's time for smartphones to play Crysis on?
This is getting a bit funny now, are they hiring people to "forget" prototypes in various areas? "Bill, I hear that a Tomshardware reporter goes to this gym, why don't you take this and hide it under his towel" "Bill, I meant when he was NOT wearing it! We'll just have to let them keep it now."
Is this thing gonna have a slide-out keyboard?

Just wait until the car companies start to jump on this trend.
You just happen to walk down a back alley, behind a local car magazine office, and find a new 2011 model of [insert car brand here], parked out back with its driver door open with keys in the ignition.

I sure as hell would not be taking pictures and selling them to people, I would be going on a road trip!
By the way... today's (5/27) news in Gizmodo...

Crap, no physical keyboard. Thanks for the link!
I thing Moto makes good devices, but from what I hear about this phone, it's nothing special. No physical keyboard, and pretty standard specs. There's some confusion right now on whether its running a 720MHz ARM Cortex A8, or a 1GHz Snapdragon processor... but either way, its not going to be too much different than the HTC Incredible.
I'm not impressed. Competition's good though, and this phone should put pressure on HTC to release something better than the Incredible on Verizon, or at least update to 2.2 as fast as possible... since, I assume the Moto Shadow will steal some of their sales.
- Rumor has the Samsung Galaxy S (which may have a "Pro" version with a QWERTY) releasing soon to the GSM carriers, but with a bit of a delay for the CDMA version. Which means that if the Shadow wants to get its foot in the party door, it better do so in June!
Motorola phones are trash. Why anyone would care enough to take a picture of it is beyond me.
