Apple has confirmed its much talked about September event.
As was expected, the event is music/iPod themed. While this will undoubtedly mean iPods with cameras and a look at iTunes 9, Steve Jobs' appearance has been rumored for the event as well as an Apple tablet.
TechCrunch reports that Apple will shift focus to the iPod Touch as the main iPod. Anyone have any predictions about what Apple will offer this year? Let us know in the comments below!

Me predictions? New ones will be expensive. Old one will be useless.
Beatles on ITunes?
Yup, it's probably Beatles...
It's not going to stop me from boycotting Apple anyway.
What about the Crash'n Burn event (see exploding iPhone).
yep I am boycotting until they stop charging me 20 bucks an os upgrade for a ipod touch. I wont own another ipod . and for all of u saying get an iphone. I would have to move out of state for reception.
They'll up the disk space on the touch, probably in the 80 - 100 gig range.
Loads of Apple Time-BOMBS at the event! RUN everyone!
The picture below the article alone is enough to frighten me away from the Ipod lineup...
Introducing the iGrenade, with completely random timer.
After seeing the Beatles latch on to Rock Band for another distribution platform, I fully expect this to be the long awaited Beatles announcement.
iPod touch + hard drive? Please?
Just gimme that gold old rock and roll!!!

Doubt it and I can't imagine how ridiculously expensive it would be either. Bet the 8GB is phased out and it goes 16, 32, and 64 with the current pricing scheme. The 32GB is just stupidly expensive at $400. I bet it cost Apple $15 more for the NAND than the 8GB and they make it up $180.
iPod touch + hard drive? Please?
0% chance.
0% chance.
You clearly don't understand quantum mechanics.
@tayb
If they do make the iPod Touch the "main" SKU, they might indeed put a 1.8" hard drive in there instead of flash memory. That would keep the price tag lower. Well, not as high...
sorry, but the ipods have historically been behind the curve in storage capacity compared to my music collection. I think I might be some sort of music addict.
I have no need for an over priced MP3 player, even if it works as a crappy camera with no optical zoom.
Finally releasing the beatles catalogue
waiting for creative's egg to hatch...
it will offer an explosive sale ^^
Apple should call their event "Douchefest" to better represent their target demographic.
