It's aptly named the Panasonic Japanese Microwave, and even though it retails at $429.95 and is therefore more expensive than most microwaves on the market, it more than justifies the price tag with its premium set of features.
This begins with the Genius® Sensor 2.0 feature, which utilizes 64 thermo sensors to detect food temperature every 0.1 second. The result is food that isn't heated evenly, not just round the edges. This takes all the guesswork out of the cooking process and provides a quick and easy solution for getting your dinner perfectly cooked and on the table as quickly as possible.
This is backed up by the One Push Reheat feature, which does exactly what the name suggests. Gone are the days of having to dial in times and having to revisit the microwave every 30 seconds just to check if your food is properly cooked. With this microwave, all you have to do is put your plate in, push the Reheat button, and the technology will take care of the rest.
The Panasonic Japanese Microwave
The Japanese Microwave is, you guessed it, inspired by clean Japanese craftsmanship. Blending soft rounded contours, a muted graphite finish, and simple controls, this is a microwave that embraces an understated aesthetic that effortlessly blends into the decor of modern kitchens.
The appliance is designed like any traditional oven with a pull-down door which comes into its own in tight spaces and narrow kitchens. Despite this type of microwave door being less common in the U.S., Panasonic believes that it has more benefits compared to a side-hinged design.
The unit itself is sleek, minimal, and beautifully compact. In fact, it will fit neatly onto any kitchen countertop space or into an appliance cabinet. But don't let the small size fool you. The 1.0 cubic foot interior cavity is more than adequately sized to accommodate most plates and dishes.
Maybe the biggest deviation from traditional microwaves is the removal of a spinning plate in favor of a hidden antenna under the microwave floor which "rotates microwave energy around the food, sending heat to cooler spots and avoiding areas that are already hot." The result is an even cook across the entire dish.
