Which Purple mattress should you buy?
Purple beds can be roughly divided into three categories: the Essential collection (starting from $799), the Restore collection (starting from $1,999), and the Rejuvenate collection (starting from $4,499). The Essentials collection consists of memory foam mattresses, while the Restore and Rejuvenate collection are both hybrid mattresses. (There's also the Renew, which doesn't quite fit in anywhere.)
The Essentials and Restore collection rate among the best mattresses in a box. The thicker, plusher Rejuvenate models are delivered flat and come with bonus free white glove delivery. All three collections feature Purple's patented Purple Grid mattress tech — an innovative hyper-elastic polymer that bends and conforms to your body.
The PurpleFlex Mattress is the cheapest mattress by Purple, yet it still comes with Purple's patented Purple Grid mattress tech. Under this grid sits a base support foam. The Purple Original and Purple Plus mattresses have a similar build, but each design increases the level of support and comfort (and foam).

The Purple Mattress uses the Purple Grid to eliminate pressure points and allow airflow so you can sleep cool and comfortable. The Purple Grid is engineered to flex directly under your pressure points while supporting the rest of your body. In other words, it'll cradle your shoulders and hips while fully supporting your back. This means your back will be naturally aligned while you sleep.

The Purple Plus is a luxurious mattress and a step up from the Purple Original. It features two extra inches of foam than its predecessor. Overall, it's rated a medium firmness, but Purple also promises an 'adaptive' feel — soft where you want a mattress to feel soft, and firmer where you need extra support.
The Purple Plus is also great at relieving pressure points, and all sleep positions were well-suited on this mattress. It feels soft and cradled under your head, neck, arms, and legs, but is firmer under the shoulders, hips and lumbar spine. In our testing, we rated it one of the best mattresses for back pain.

When is the best month to buy a Purple mattress?
Purple mattress sales happen regularly but they're not as reliable as the year-round savings from some sleep brands (such as Nectar's mattress sales and DreamCloud's mattress sales). That means the best time to save on a Purple mattress is during a major sales event, such as Memorial Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
During these events, you'll often find the biggest savings on the Restore and Rejuvenate mattresses. Shop carefully, and you might even claim a free gift (Purple sometimes starts small and boosts the sale the closer you get to the holiday).
However, there's a caveat. If you want the PurpleFlex or the PurpleRenew, it's better to shop outside wider sales events. We've noticed these mattresses are discounted in what might be considered the 'off-season'
