Asus at CES 2026: Technology that adapts to you, not the other way around

Too often, tech is made to suit an overly broad consumer base. A laptop that's perfect for everyone sounds great on paper, but the reality is that no such thing exists, because we all have different needs.

When we caught up with Asus at CES 2026, we saw many new innovative products, all entirely unique, but all unified by that same goal: being perfect for their specific use case instead of piling on features that won't tick all the boxes.

In the Asus booth at CES 2026, we spoke to Sascha Krohn, Asus' Director of Technical Marketing. During our chat, one thing stood out — Asus knows its target audience, and it's building products that will suit that audience perfectly.

"We're the opposite of other brands that are maybe one-size-fits-all," said Krohn. "There's some companies that try to make the laptop for everyone, and it's great at everything, but it isn't specifically tailored for one particular thing or use case. We're the opposite."

Krohn went on to highlight that Asus focuses on making several different series made for users who need those specific kinds of features. This means innovation that adapts to the user and fits neatly into their life without forcing them to adapt to something that's not quite suited for them.

The goal to make tech simpler, more intuitive, and more satisfying to use echoes through the products we got some hands-on time with.

Multitasking just got a lot easier

Napoleon Liu, who works in product marketing at Asus, gave us a preview of some exciting products that truly embrace that user-first approach. One of the products that we know multitaskers will love is the latest iteration of the Zenbook Duo.

On the surface, it really just looks like a normal laptop. Inside, it hides a better-than-ever second display, a lot of productivity modes, and excellent performance backed by the latest specs.

The Zenbook Duo comes with an integrated kickstand that lets you switch into portrait mode at any time. What's more, all you need to do is detach the Asus ErgoSense keyboard and touchpad (which is super easy — just check out our video footage) to get the full benefit of the dual 16:10 14-inch Asus Lumina OLED displays.

Tucking away the second display behind the keyboard is clever, but the best part is the low latency. The whole process is entirely seamless; the Zenbook Duo automatically adapts to what you're doing, letting you switch to using two displays and keep on working.

You can also switch from the up and down layout to desktop mode, which gives you a left and right screen instead. The laptop detects what you're doing and adjusts, also letting you use the two touchscreen displays separately if you want to work on something alongside a teammate.

Hardware-wise, we're looking at an up to Intel Core Ultra X9 CPU with built-in Arc graphics, up to 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, and dual-band Wi-Fi 7 support.

The latest Asus Zenbook Duo was made to stay productive in a way that works for you, letting you work however you want and wherever you want.

Working on the go doesn't mean compromise

Napoleon then walked us over to the Zenbook A16 and A14, which are the latest versions of Asus' A-series laptop lineup, known for its lightweight form factor. The A16 is a new 16-inch arrival, which although thin, doesn't have to compromise on specs and features.

Usually, thinner laptops need to pay the price for being so easy to carry. That means removing things like fans and speakers. They still work, but the lack of fans can especially hinder performance when dealing with heavy workloads, such as video editing or rendering. The Zenbook A16 doesn't suffer from any of those problems because Asus was able to squeeze everything it needed into a slim chassis without any compromise.

The Zenbook A14 weighs just under 1 kg (2.20 lbs), and the 16-inch A16 is not much heavier at just over 1 kg. No matter which one you choose, you'll never have a lot to carry.

While lightweight, the laptop packs extreme performance, with the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme chip combined with the Qualcomm Adreno X2 GPU, serving up pro-level graphics for gamers and creatives alike. The Qualcomm Hexagon NPU delivers an impressive 80 TOPS of AI processing power. The 21 hours of battery life on a single charge and the gorgeous 16-inch 3K OLED display are just the cherry on top of what's already a thin-and-light powerhouse.

Asus' latest Zenbook A16 and A14 are both fully made with ceraluminum, a unique process that gives you the best benefits of both ceramic and aluminum. It has a unique, premium feel, all the while being lighter, tougher, and anti-wear.

Napoleon also showed us the Zenbook S14 and S16, which are even slimmer and further tailored to the needs of users who need their laptop to be both a reliable tool and a regular travel companion.

Content creation is no longer something that any laptop should be expected to do. Creative minds deserve a worthy sidekick, and for a long time, the Asus ProArt lineup has been just that.

"The ProArt mission is basically to bring creation [and make it] accessible to everybody," said Liu. The goal for ProArt was to offer advanced capabilities in a neat package that everyone can benefit from, both casual users sending videos to their family and pro content creators who do this for a living.

The ProArt PZ14 comes with a gorgeous Asus Lumina OLED display, which is an up to 14-inch 16:10 144Hz display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,800, and an ultrawide color gamut of 100% DCI-P3. It's certified VESA DisplayHDR 1000 True Black, Dolby Vision, and Pantone Validated, so it produces intensely accurate colors, making graphic design and editing a breeze.

The Asus Dial is a standout feature on this laptop. Integrated into the touchpad, it makes editing, color picking, and other creative workflows way more intuitive.

Seamless content creation needs to be backed by solid specs, which is why Asus decked this one out with the Snapdragon X2 Elite 18-core CPU and an up to 80 TOPS NPU. You can configure your laptop to serve up to 32GB LPDDR5X-9600 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

What does that translate to? Fast rendering, editing, file transfers, and intuitive performance that can keep up with you no matter what you do.

Asus teams up with GoPro for the ultimate content creator package

Lastly, we have the Asus ProArt GoPro Edition laptop, which is an unexpected collaboration between the two brands that actually makes a whole lot of sense.

Asus' Napoleon Liu told us that Asus and GoPro have a shared goal of making it easier to capture what you've seen and share it with others, and the new laptop fits right into that mission statement. GoPro cameras will help you tape every moment of your adventures, and Asus hardware will make it easier to put it all together, both for professionals and casual outdoor enthusiasts.

The ProArt GoPro Edition laptop was created for people who are always on the move, and may have to use their laptop in less-than-ideal conditions. This means grip-enhancing CNC-engraved lines and sandblasted finish to keep the chassis sturdy while being lightweight. The laptop comes with a dedicated GoPro hotkey that makes it easier to access your files, and you'll be accessing them quickly, if the specs are anything to go by.

The ProArt GoPro Edition laptop comes with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 16-core CPU and Radeon 8060S graphics, as well as a massive 128GB of LPDDR5X memory that's shared between the CPU, the GPU, and the AI engine.

The collab between Asus and GoPro goes a step further: you're getting a 12-month GoPro Premium+ subscription ($99.99 value) with your purchase, powering your adventures for a whole year, plus a 15% discount coupon.
