25. Behavior At 48kHz

Frequency response : the result is even better than at 44kHz, so it'll be hard to find fault.

Noise level : noise, as expected, is similarly low and regular.

Dynamic range : better than at 44kHz, a very good result.

THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) : distortion is very low and noise more than reasonable.

IMD (Intermodulation distortion) : very low, IMD (Intermodulation distortion) distortion will be no problem.

Stereo crosstalk : like at 44kHz: objectively middling, but satisfactory in practice.

3D Sound And Games

With the same basic circuits as the Muse Pocket, the Aureon performs much the same. Objectively then, it is not brilliant, processor occupancy being high. In practice, with real games, things are quite different, since it performs pretty much the same (though not quite as well) as the Muse Pocket. This applies equally to Quake 3 and Comanche 4 where the Aureon is ahead. But, like its rival, it is last for Splinter Cell, which is much more complicated for sound rendering.
