It's technically thinner than its predecessor, measuring 0.24-inches when unfolded and 0.52-inches folded. It's also lighter at 6.35 ounces. Otherwise, it remains unchanged from its predecessor. In fact, if you're a Galaxy Z Flip 7 owner, you might even find the new phone somewhat boring.

When compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is a better phone for vlogging. That’s due to its form factor, which is far better suited for capturing video using the rear cameras alongside the FlexWindow display.

If you're a content creator who can really take advantage of the phone's unique design, you'll find the Galaxy Z Flip 8 to be a fun phone. Just keep in mind that at $1,199 it's dangerously close to the price of traditional flagships like the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which offers a superior camera systems, larger battery, and far more robust productivity features.
