One of the best ways to save on your tech purchases is by purchasing previous-gen devices. This is especially true when it comes to iPhones. Apple's smartphones not only age gracefully, but the older models are always discounted to make room for the new flagships.

For example, new customers can get the iPhone 13 for $199 at StraightTalk when you activate a new line of service on a Silver Unlimited plan. It's an excellent deal if you're on a budget, but want an iPhone that can run iOS 26.

Apple iPhone 13: was $499 now $199 at Straight Talk

StraightTalk is offering the iPhone 13 for just $199 when you activate a new line of service on a Silver Unlimited plan. Despite being a few generations old, in our iPhone 13 review we called it the best iPhone for anyone on a budget. It features a 6.1-inch 2532 x 1170 display, A15 Bionic CPU, 128GB of storage, and dual 12MP (wide/ultrawide) camera lenses. You also get a 12MP TrueDepth front camera and IP68 water resistance.

The biggest downside to the iPhone 13 is that it doesn't support Apple Intelligence. (You'll need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer for Apple Intelligence). However, the iPhone 13 can run the latest iOS 26 software. Despite its age, it's also great for everything from streaming Netflix to the occasional game, making this a good deal for iPhone fans on a tight budget.

The A15 Bionic chip offers incredibly fast and efficient performance while the battery is able to last a full day for most users. The camera system isn't the latest and greatest, but it's still capable of delivering pro-grade photography.

Meanwhile, StraightTalk is part of Verizon's prepaid brands that also includes the likes of Visible and Total Wireless. Although it doesn't hold a spot in our list of the best prepaid phone plans, it still offers a great value to households with multiple phones/lines.
