Purchasing a new smartphone can quickly turn into a costly endeavor, especially if you shop for models featured in our best phones guide. Fortunately, there are plenty of cell phone deals which can help keep costs at bay.

One of my favorite deals this week comes from Cricket Wireless. If you're not familiar with Cricket, the MVNO uses AT&T's towers for coverage. It essentially gives you access to AT&T's network without having to pay high prices for your monthly plan. As with any MVNO, your data speed with Cricket can slow down if AT&T's network gets congested, but Cricket has long since done away with speed caps on its plans, which makes it a far more attractive option than it was a few years ago.

Additionally, Cricket is slashing the price of select phones from Apple, Samsung, and Motorola. In some cases, you can get your new phone for free. Below I've rounded up my top deals now.
