If you'd asked NBA fans at the start of the 2024-25 season who would eventually play out the Finals, only the savviest may have predicted a Thunder vs Pacers clash for the championship.

History is at stake for both teams. Not even the great Reggie Miller was able to seal a championship for Indiana, losing their only Finals appearance to the L.A. Lakers in 2000. While a win for top seeded Oklahoma City Thunder would be a first championship in the franchise's current guise — the previously named Seattle SuperSonics took the title way back in 1979.

And it's the Thunder that are now in the driving seat at 3-2 up. Indiana claimed first blood as Tyrese Haliburton landed a clutch jumper with just 0.3 seconds on the clock in Game 1. Since then, it's been a back and forth affair, with Oklahoma managing to peg back their opponents each time they've gotten ahead. They finally got ahead in Game 5, but the Pacers will hope that their home-court advantage will be enough to take the series to a nerve-jangling Game 7..
