3. Who Should Open It And Gigantic Mice

From Michael In Canada On Product Packaging

"I always have a Swiss Army pocket knife on me; you can guess why. Last time I went to buy stuff for my mom's computer she told me she would need a hand from me more to get the stuff out of the packaging than to show her how to use the stuff.

Well I showed her my trick: While at the store you take the item out of your bag and ask the clerk to open it for you since you just can't.

I've been giving that trick to all the people over 45 in my family since they all have arthritis. Need to buy cables for your 7.1 channel stereo receiver? They come in about 15 different packages. Bring your soda and popcorn and have a laugh. If they don't want to open the packages for you, well I ask for a refund."

From Iain On Tech Support

I have a strange story regarding a customer who called into our tech support line about a year ago.

The call didn't get off to a very good start as the customer was quite rude and abusive stating she was going to sue the company and also go to the news papers. This was before even telling me the issue.

After about 10 min I finally got the customer to stop rambling on and explain what her gripe was. She said that the Logitech mouse that came with her system was too big for her hands and was causing her immense pain.

She even went so far as to say that the mouse was making her hand grow and this is why her hand hurt.

PLUS SHE SAID SHE HAD BEEN TO THE DOCTORS AND HER DOCTOR TOLD HER THIS - THAT THE MOUSE WAS MAKING HER HAND GROW.

I really didn't know what to say, I stuttered and stammered as I tried to process what this strange person told me and I really could think of nothing to say back to her.

She wanted a refund and wanted a 'normal mouse' and one that was not designed for a 'big oaf'.

After a while I just passed her on to my manager who agreed to refund her the cost of the mouse so she could go to her local hardware store and purchase one.

To her surprise she found out that ALL mice were like the one she had and she had to call back in and offer us the money back and request that we let her keep the original mouse."
