6. Benchmarks And Results Compared

Here we present the results of our tests of each of the two systems next to each other, so you can easily compare them. For more on the tests and how we did them see the original articles on the the low end media PC system and the high end media PC system.

The superior performance of the AMD 6000+ system over the 4600+ system is quite clear. Is it worth an extra $2,000? That's for you to decide. Note what a difference the 8800 GTX made in the current 6000+ system when compared to the DIY article 6000+ system. The DIY 6000+ system had a 7600 GT graphics card.

Yesterday, we expressed our great satisfaction with the 3DMark05 performance of the high end media PC with its 8800 GTX graphics processor. It's far from a fair match, but you can see why we recommend trying a 7600 GT graphics card on the low end system. It will certainly improve performance.
