In battery-powered operation, if the "Max Battery" power scheme is used, the CPU in a Pentium M notebook runs with a fixed clock of 600 MHz. As a consequence, the results of this benchmark are practically identical, apart from measurement variables. By contrast, the power scheme "Portable Laptop" causes the CPU clock to adapt to the demands of the applications.

A low CPU clock with the "Max Battery" setting also means, however, that memory is accessed more slowly.
