9. Everything Else
Here are a few other interesting tidbits that didn't seem to fit neatly anywhere else. Enjoy!
Bandwidth Controllers
It's probably my own obsession, but I think Bandwidth control is something that SOHO users sense they need but don't know what to call it. Micronet showed its new SP881 which they said has bandwidth management capabilities, but confirmed they still aren't interested in entering the U.S. market.
However, I was also able to find similar products from Planet (mentioned previously) and Advanced SI-Net. All are really more intended for Enterprise use, though. Fortunately, OvisLink has included bandwidth management features in its MU 9000VPN and WMU 9000VPN products, which I'll be checking out shortly.
Gigabit Ethernet Routers
None spotted except for Cameo Communications' Mini-ISG104 and ASUS' IPX3141.
HomePlug
This category seems to be alive and well, fueled primarily by the latest generation of products that support 200V range European use. Most Ethernet and USB adapters have moved to the "wall-wart" form factor and I spotted a few HomePlug routers, but can't remember where I saw them. Someone also was showing a HomePlug AP similar to the now-departed SpeedStream 2521, but my notes and memory fail me.
HPNA
Looks to be just about extinct with only one lonely booth (at least that I found) showing phone line networking products.
So that's it from lovely Taipei. It's been an interesting first Computex for me and maybe I'll do it again next year!

I found lots of higher-end products from Planet, Digital Data, and IEI (QNAP). QNAP is another
