We've not heard much about Dell's attempt at a smartphone over the last month or so, which makes it all the more surprising to hear that the company is planning on bringing its Android device to the U.S. in the near future.
Today CrunchGear reports that Dell's China-only Mini 3i isn't going to stay China-only forever. CG cites sources who say the device will make it to the U.S. "in the coming months." The anonymous tipster said that while the device felt “cheap and plasticky, like the Pre,” he believes Dell will bring an upgraded version to the American market.
Among the changes slated for the U.S. model are a slimmer build and a better camera (5 mp in place of the current 3 mp). Of course, there's no word on a carrier just yet but after yesterday's news, dare we suggest Verizon?
How do you reckon Dell's Android-based smartphone will fare out among the competition? Let us know in the comments below!

Verizon is actually a good suggestion, due to their lack of smartphone selection.
Verizon + Dell? Hmm....

Oh, how I can't wait for the commercials.
I love my wife's T-Mobile android phone, but a couple problems I've had with it are getting the mobile skype app to work well, and I haven't found a decent media player.
