Deals on unlimited data can be hard to come by. However, right now Metro by T-Mobile is offering one of the best deals I've seen all year.

For a limited time, Metro by T-Mobile is offering unlimited 5G data for one line for just $20/month. There is a minor catch. To get this price, you'll need to pay upfront for six months ($120 total), but it still works out to just $20/month. Additionally, your price is guaranteed for 5 years.

Unlimited 5G data: for $20/month @ Metro by T-Mobile

Unlimited 5G data: for $20/month @ Metro by T-Mobile
Metro by T-Mobile is offering its one-line unlimited 5G data plan for just $20/month. You'll need to pay upfront for 6 months, but it's still one of the lowest unlimited data plans I've seen. Additionally, this rate is locked in for 5 years. Taxes and fees are included. You get unlimited 5G data, unlimited talk/text, T-Mobile Tuesdays (exclusive deals), and Scam Shield.

Formerly MetroPCS, Metro by T-Mobile is part of T-Mobile's portfolio of brands. We're fans of the service due to its budget-friendly plans. A common perception among potential customers is that one of the trade-offs you make when opting for prepaid phone service is diminished network performance. While it's true that parent carriers reserve the right to slow down speeds of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), we've rarely seen much of a disparity over three years of networking testing.

This deal gives you access to T-Mobile's 5G network, T-Mobile Tuesdays (exclusive deals), and Scam Shield. It's worth noting that you'll need to bring your own phone, but the savings you'll reap on data are pretty incredible.

By comparison, opening a single line on Verizon's Unlimited Welcome would set you back $55/month. Additionally, it's only guaranteed for 3 years and doesn't include taxes. Yes, you'll need to bring your own phone to Metro by T-Mobile, but this is an incredible deal. If you're looking for hardware deals, make sure to check out our guide to the best cell phone deals.
