I love a versatile kitchen appliance. If it can do more than one cooking mode or preset, consider me sold. Air fryers are perhaps the pinnacle of versatile kitchen appliances, and I’m happy to report that this is especially true for my kitchen’s latest addition, the Ninja Crispi.
Ninja's newest air frying device launched in Australia late last year to near universal praise, flying off shelves in an instant. What's even better is that right now, the Ninja Crispi is discounted by 29% on Amazon.
Sure, there's also a nice 17% discount directly at Ninja, but this AU$211.65 Amazon price is the second-cheapest it's been since the Crispi's Aussie debut in November. (If you were quick, it was just AU$196 on Christmas Day.) And better yet, this discount is across all three colourways: Cyberspace, Sage and Stone.
Note that this discount is exclusive to Amazon Prime members – and you'll likely need to act fast, as Amazon has flagged that this is a ‘limited’ promotion.
Hot off the press, Ninja's latest air fryer packs 1700W of power into a portable design, with two borosilicate glassware containers that serve as both frying baskets and serving dishes. The borosilicate means they can also withstand extreme temperatures, making it easy to take your favourite foods from frozen to crispy. The Crispi also comes with two removable crisping grates and two snap-on container lids for easy food-storage post-feast.
In our Ninja Crispi review, we gave it a massive 4.5 stars, as it was super quiet and delivered surprisingly crispy results. Our reviewer was pleasantly surprised by the device, and found the gadget "reinvented the traditional air fryers" they've used in the past.
I've really appreciated the simplicity and convenience that come with the Crispi. It's become an integral part of my daily routine — from frying up chicken tenders to roasting salmon perfectly, I've enjoyed every meal and side I've made with my Ninja Crispi. But something I've appreciated even more than the tasty results is the fact that I can pop a lid on my leftovers and chuck them in the fridge almost immediately, saving me the painstaking task of finding a plastic container and matching lid in my endless pit of a Tupperware drawer.
Unlike traditional air fryers, the Crispi doesn’t use traditional temperature adjustments and houses just four settings: Roast, Recrisp, Air Fry and Keep Warm. While the presets don't specify an exact figure on the device, the handbook says that temperatures start at 70°C on the lowest setting and go up to 200°C, which is a comparable range for most air fryers.
The timer on the Crispi can be adjusted in minute increments, and you can also add or reduce your cooking time. And to turn off the device, you'll need to hold down the 'Start' button, as it doesn't have a labelled off switch.
It has some quirks, then, but they haven’t stopped me from loving the result I’ve achieved with my Ninja Crispi.
