If you’re looking to boost your library of Nintendo Switch games then you’ll want to head over to Best Buy as the electronics retailer has just launched a new promotion that ranks as one of the best gaming deals we’ve spotted so far this year.

For a limited time, Best Buy is offering “buy 2 get 1 free” on select Nintendo Switch games. Just add three included Switch games to your cart, and the game of equal or lesser value will be completely free.

There is a slight catch to this offer, you must be a My Best Buy Plus member in order to claim your free Switch game. Membership costs $49 a year and gives you access to exclusive deals and sales as well as free two-day shipping on online orders.

Best Buy has overhauled its Amazon Prime rival, now calling it My Best Buy. You will need either My Best Buy Plus ($49/year) or My Best Buy Total ($179/year) in order to take advantage of this Switch game deal. My Best Buy Plus includes access to exclusive deals and promotions as well as free two-day shipping on online orders.

In the past, we’ve seen retailers use “buy 2 get 1 free” deals as a way to shift surplus stock, but that’s definitely not the case here. Loads of the best Nintendo Switch games are included in this Best Buy promotion. That includes the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom alongside Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Splatoon 3, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Metroid Prime Remastered

Even better this deal covers pretty much every major upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive as well. This means you can pre-order a trio of highly-anticipated Nintendo-published titles such as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG Remake, Pikmin 4, WarioWare: Move It and Detective Pikachu Returns, and you’ll get one of them completely free.

If the list above doesn’t appeal to you, plenty of third-party Switch ports are included in the selection as well. These include Hogwarts Legacy, Sonic Superstar, Persona 5 Tactica, Disney Illusion Island and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Whatever type of Switch gamer you are there are likely to be three titles that appeal to you, in fact, you might even find narrowing your choices down to just three to be a tricky task.

Meanwhile, if you’re also a PlayStation gamer, don’t miss this epic discount on a top-rated Samsung PS5 SSD. Plus, Amazon Prime Day 2023 is on the horizon, and we expect to see plenty more epic gaming deals during the annual sales event. Be sure to keep it locked to Tom’s Guide over the coming weeks for comprehensive coverage of all the biggest discounts and savings across dozens of product categories.
