The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro is one of the company’s latest laptops to offer the energy-efficient Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 chip that still offers plenty of power, giving users ultimate capability with minimal drain.

Between its big, beautiful display, the amount of power under the hood (particularly for AI features), and the way it lasts for longer than expected on a single charge, users will want to take it just about everywhere.

TLDR:

  • Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro features the Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 chip for efficiency of battery life and plenty of power.
  • The Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen offers an adaptive refresh rate that reaches 120Hz.
  • The whole package weighs just 1.24kg (14 inch) and 1.59kg (16 inch), with a modern design that makes it feel easy to put in a backpack and carry all day.

An ideal travel companion

There are a few things that make a laptop truly portable. For one, the device itself needs to be fairly light, and with a starting weight of just 1.24kg and 1.59kg for the 14 and 16-inch models of Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro, respectively, you can consider that box ticked.

It also measures just 11.9mm thick, with a gorgeous revamped design that packs a comfortable keyboard and huge trackpad into a relatively small footprint.

On the other hand, portability isn’t just defined by how small a laptop is — it’s also about how much battery life is available. After all, is it really portable if you need to sit next to a charger all day?

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro passes that test with flying colours, too, offering up to 30 hours of video playback on a single charge*, and diligently working away from your first cup of coffee in the morning to the last at the end of the day.

Portable powerhouse

Honing in on the new Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 chip, announced at CES this year, then, and it would be fair to say it’s making a stunning debut here.

That’s partially because it can run AI tasks so well on-device (more on that in a moment), but also because the new Arc™ Graphics are much faster than the prior generation.

If you’re manipulating complex CAD files and the like, you’re getting a sizeable boost in performance with the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro, and if you’re just using it for an awful lot of writing and Photoshop edits, you’ll no doubt be pleased to see it handle layer upon layer with no slowdown.

It also starts at 16GB of RAM, making it an easy-to-recommend ultrabook even at the base spec — something not always true of its contemporaries.

Plenty of AI utility

While there’s been a rush to show what AI can do, Samsung has been paying closer attention to more, well, useful ways to leverage the technology.

The Core Ultra Series 3 chip inside the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro is built with AI in mind, offering 50 TOPS (50 trillion operations per second) for on-device AI tasks like tidying up your webcam by ensuring you’re always looking at the camera, using Microsoft Copilot features, and using Samsung Studio to identify subjects in photos with a simple search function.

It’s durable

One of the smartest parts of the new design on the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro is its durability (but no, you still shouldn't plan on dropping it!).

The whole thing has been redesigned for better airflow, allowing the laptop to run cooler than its predecessors without needing additional fans, while the aluminium chassis stays cool to the touch even during demanding workflows.

The keyboard promises maximum comfort, even for hours at a time, and the touchpad is made of one single piece of material with haptics underneath, minimizing the risk of moving parts breaking.

A stunning canvas

Any time spent with the 14-inch model, will likely impress you about just how much you're able to achieve on any given day.

The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is an ideal size for running apps side-by-side, with the 16-inch version even bigger for creative projects, should you find yourself needing more screen real estate. Movement remains smooth throughout thanks to a refresh rate that can climb to as high as 120Hz, while it’s also gorgeous to look at with excellent contrast.

The blue light filter is particularly useful for those of us that work all hours of the day (and night), too, and while some people use touchscreens on laptops sparingly, for those that want it, the display is super responsive.

All of this, combined with the power of the Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3, makes it feel like a laptop that’s a dream companion for visual workflows like editing video with live captions or even just juggling the most unwieldy of Photoshop files.

Plenty of ports

Nobody could claim to be a fan of carrying a dongle around with them, but with the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro, you’ll never need to again.

Not only does the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro come with a lesser-spotted USB-A port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports for USB-C connectivity.

And, since we all have to give the occasional presentation, it's particularly pleasing to see the inclusion of an HDMI 2.1 port for up to 8K at 60 FPS. It’s yet another way to eliminate the friction of finding an extra cable or adapter.
