Alejandro Medellin
Alejandro is a freelance writer, videographer, and photographer who first fell in love with tech when he received a Gen 1 iPod Nano for Christmas. Since graduating from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's in Journalism, where he learned the importance of multimedia journalism, he's reviewed consumer tech for Tom's Guide, Input, and Premium Beat. He's reviewed everything from laptops and keyboards to headphones and camera gear.
He has expanded his skillset by teaching himself how to shoot and edit video professionally. Starting out with a budget Canon EOS M50, his camera arsenal now includes the beloved Panasonic Lumix GH5, the Lumix S9, and the Lumix S5II, which is rigged out like a cinema cam and used on professional shoots. While he occasionally shoots photography for money, it's mostly a hobby that allows him to explore the city of Denver and its surroundings. Recently, he picked up film photography and shoots with a Canon EOS 10S, teaching himself how to develop and scan film to save money - he loves the analog process.
Ever since that first iPod, he's been fascinated with consumer tech gadgets and has a collection of new and retro tech that is increasingly taking over his office. His largest collection is for the Nintendo 3DS, which includes 6 consoles and over 60 games. When he's not working or bringing his camera around to shoot events for fun, you can catch him playing video games or reading manga at home, hanging out with friends at local watering holes, or cooking for his wife. On Saturdays, he watches his beloved Chelsea and attends Colorado Rapids matches, where he is a season ticket member.
