Creepy Tentacle Doubles as USB Speaker

Apparently inspired by nature, Romanian designer Diana Dumitrescu has created quite an interesting concept for a USB speaker. Designed to amplify sound from a portable device such as a laptop or tablet, Dumitrescu's "USB Speaker" opens and closes depending on what it's current function is. While not in use, the speaker takes on a tentacle like shape.

When the speaker gets connected to a device and turned on, it opens up and blooms like a flower giving an improved audio experience. In addition to its functions as a speaker, the USB Speaker also has a microphone that can pop out for use when needed. Although Dumitrescu's design is quite innovative and cool, we can't help but picture the USB speaker as more of a mechanical monster's appendage rather than a blooming flower.
