Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is truly going to bend time and space next month. The Marvel movie's plot has been set up by the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki and WandaVision. And if the Doctor Strange 2 leaks are to believed, fans are in for quite a wild ride involving jaw-dropping cameos. And if you want all the Doctor Strange 2 post-credit scenes details? We've got you covered there, too.

It's not just the good doctor that we are excited about this upcoming film. It's all in the latter half of its title: the Multiverse of Madness. Already, we've seen massive  implications for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the new Moon Knight series on Disney Plus hasn't connected to it yet, this does seem like a good time to watch the Marvel movies in order

Here's everything we know so far about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness release date

Disney has set the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness release date for May 6, 2022. Who knows when it will hit Disney Plus (available on all the best streaming devices). With just a few weeks before its theatrical release, here's what you should watch before Doctor Strange 2

Disney reshuffled quite a few of its theatrical release dates. May 6 was previously intended for Thor: Love and Thunder (now July 8). Check out the calendar of upcoming Marvel movies and series for full details.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cast

The main cast is confirmed: Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo.

A new Doctor Strange 2 TV spot revealing possibly 2 cameos and more Professor X, because, yes, that Super Bowl ad broke our brains when we heard Patrick Stewart's voice.

In late 2020, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased that Doctor Strange would tie into two other Marvel projects. The first is WandaVision and Elizabeth Olsen is seen reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch) in the teaser trailer.

Last summer, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Tom Hiddleston is appearing as Loki. Given how Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie shattered the sacred timeline, we're not exactly surprised.

A new addition is Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a fan-favorite teen hero from the comics.

Some leaks and rumors have come out about possible other Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cast members. Scroll down to learn more.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailers

A new Doctor Strange 2 trailer teases a super-haunting vibe for the movie, with both Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff struggling with all-too-real dreams.

As covered in our Super Bowl commercials live blog, the full Dr. Strange 2 trailer dropped back in January. It's got a lot of confusion, a restless Stephen Strange (who may have been arrested), a vengeful Wanda Maximoff and a voice that sounds like Patrick Stewart.

And, yes, people are wondering if that was Prof. X.

In December, Marvel debuted the teaser trailer for Doctor Strange 2 after the credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Which made complete sense considering Strange's unleashes multiverse when a spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker is Spider-Man goes awry.

To fix what he broke, Stephen approaches an old friend — Wanda Maximoff.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness plot

The official plot synopsis (according to Backstage) reads, "After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Dr Stephen Strange continues his research on the Time Stone. But an old friend-turned-enemy puts an end to his plans and causes Strange to unleash unspeakable evil."

That old friend is likely Mordo (Chiwetel Eijofor). In the Doctor Strange post-credits scene, we saw Mordo re-paralyze Jonathan Pangborn (Benjamin Bratt). Mordo accused him of wanting to steal their power, and said there were too many sorcerers in the world.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness leaks and spoilers

As with most Marvel movies, leaks, spoilers and rumors are flying around. In the case of Doctor Strange 2, most involve exciting cameos.

Some leakers claim that the movie will bring in the X-Men and other mutants, specifically Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds). Also, a Twitter user noted that Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) recently dyed her hair red and that James McAvoy (younger Charles Xavier) shaved his head. Coincidence? Perhaps.

A major Reddit rumor comes from a leaker who accurately spoiled Spider-Man: No Way Home. It says that John Krasinski is making a cameo as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic.

Then there's the outlandish claim that Tom Cruise is appearing as a multiverse version of Iron Man. Cruise almost played the character instead of Robert Downey Jr., so it would be a total wink-wink moment but this still seems like a stretch.
