LAYLA VS LEESA MATTRESS TOPPER: PRICE

  • A Layla Mattress Topper is regularly priced at $289 for a queen
  • A queen size Leesa Mattress Topper is usually discounted at $239
  • Both offer a 30-night trial, but Layla offers a longer warranty

Both toppers sit in the mid to upper-mid price bracket, with the Layla topper being slightly more expensive than the Leesa topper. While neither are as affordable as the best cheap mattress toppers on the market, these toppers are from reputable sleep brands offering the signature comfort of their mattresses for less.

The Layla Mattress Topper has a starting price of $289 at MSRP, but a regular $60 off discount puts the lowest price down to $229. However, from time to time, Layla knocks $100 off all sizes - as is the current deal - so you can now get the topper for as low as $189 and a queen size for $249. There's also some great extras, including free shipping and a 5-year warranty.

However, you may question whether a 5-year warranty is worth it, considering you should replace toppers every two or three years. Also, the inclusion of a 30-night trial (which previously wasn't available), may seem a bit stingy since 30 nights is the minimum amount of time you should spend testing out a new topper.

Leesa also offers a 30-night trial and free shipping, but it's warranty is slightly shorter at one year. That said, the Leesa Mattress Topper is cheaper than the Layla Memory Foam and is regularly marked as 20% off. Leesa has already kickstarted their Memorial Day sale, which means the topper is now 25% off instead of 20% off. This puts the starting price down to $149 and a queen size down to $224 (MSRP:$299)

This topper usually on sale for $60 off every size of the Layla Memory Foam Topper (which matches Layla's Black Friday deal on this memory foam topper). While we didn't predict the price dropping any lower than that, Lyla has now introduced $100 off every size, taking a queen down to $249 - a fantastic deal that may not last long. Plus, it comes with a 5-year warranty and a 30-night sleep trial.

The Leesa Mattress Topper is a 2" thick body-contouring memory foam topper and comes with a 30-night sleep trial, free shipping and returns, and a 1-year warranty. While there's usually a 20% off deal on this bed topper, it's now been ramped up to 25% off for the early Memorial Day sales.

LAYLA VS LEESA MATTRESS TOPPER: DESIGN

  • Both the Layla and Leesa toppers have washable, removable covers
  • Both are 2" thick with a memory foam construction
  • The Layla topper comes with anchor bands to keep it in place

The Layla and Leesa toppers are two of the best mattress toppers on the market and use memory foam to add medium-firm comfort and pressure relief. They both have removable, washable covers made from breathable fabric, but there are a few differences between the Layla vs Leesa mattress toppers.

The Layla Memory Foam Topper is constructed from antimicrobial copper-infused memory foam, which is designed to keep sleepers cool and dry. The cover is made from a polyester, viscose, and lycra blend, in a fun honeycomb pattern (it's the same material as their signature memory foam mattress's cover).

There's not a lot of information on the product site, but we reached out to a brand rep who confirmed it can be removed for cleaning. You can machine wash it, but only on a cold, gentle cycle, and dry on delicate with low heat. There's an elasticated strap on each of the four corners to anchor it in place on your bed, although some customers comment that this topper still has a tendency to slide about.

The Leesa Mattress Topper, meanwhile, does not feature any anchor bands, but it's compatible with all mattresses and has a removable, machine-washable cover in a breathable knit.

LAYLA VS LEESA MATTRESS TOPPER: Comfort AND Support

  • Both toppers are rated as medium-firm, with the Layla topper plusher
  • The Leesa Mattress Topper is designed to be firmer and more responsive
  • The Layla topper uses heat-dissipating copper gel beads for temperature control

The sweat-wicking Layla Memory Foam mattress topper might only be 2-inches thick (most of our picks for best memory foam mattress topper are 3 or 4 inches), but it's great for adding softness to a too-firm bed. Layla rates it as a 5 or 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Multiple customer reviews comment on how good it is at relieving pressure and adding a cushioning feel that's ideal if you suffer from joint pain.

However, this topper's primary goal is to add softness and plushness to a bed, prioritizing comfort over support, so be mindful that it may be way too soft for some back, stomach, and heavyweight sleepers. We recommend this topper to side sleepers looking for plush. cradling comfort.

The Leesa Mattress Topper also has a medium-frim rating, but its designed to be more responsive and less sink-in soft than traditional memory foam toppers (which some find to stifling). While it comes with a breathable knit cover designed to keep sleepers cool, the Leesa Mattress Topper is described by Leesa as topper for "people in colder climates who need extra warmth." With that description in mind, those who are prone to overheating at night should avoid.

If you do sleep hot, then the Layla mattress topper may be for you, as its memory foam is infused with heat-dissipating copper gel beads to offset memory foam's heat-trapping tendencies and keep you cool, while its moisture-wicking cover keeps night sweats at bay.
