How To: Reset 25 Popular Phones

Motorola Droid X2

Soft Reset:

To force a reset, you’ll have to remove and re-insert the battery.

Factory Reset:

Go to Settings>Privacy and select Factory Data Reset. You will be given the option whether or not to erase the internal storage.

To perform a reset through the recovery menu, power on the device while holding the Volume Down button. You’ll see the Motorola logo on the screen with “Fastboot” written along the top of the display. Press the Volume Down key until it says “Android Recovery” and select it with the Volume Up key. Once a triangle with an exclamation point appears, tap bottom right corner of the screen (it may take a few tries). This will bring you into the recovery menu where you can select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
