Risk Is Inherent To Online Technologies
Adam Johns, a 32-year-old university admissions processor, has no problem using his credit card to download games and add-ons through the PlayStation Network. "With so much commerce happening online these days, this kind of thing was bound to happen sooner or later. The risk is just part of the price you pay for the convenience," he rationalizes. He makes a good point. Using a credit card is far more convenient than buying prepaid cards at a store, and there's no real guarantee that any other online network is truly secure. As 34-year-old lawyer Rob Derrick says, "These security breaches are unavoidable whether or not you even have a gaming account. If it is not the PSN then it is your employer or a media site which you frequent."
