Mystery LG Phone Up Against Nexus S, iPhone 4

The LG Optimus 2X was literally just announced. Being the first dual-core cell phone, we were all pretty impressed by the device, even if we don't quite know when it's going to hit the United States. Still, LG isn't going to let a little thing like producing the first ever dual-core smartphone get in the way of teasing more of its Android plans for 2011.

Phandroid's got a couple of photos of the iPhone 4 alongside what they're calling the LG 'B.' It's a codename for now (we think) but it's not the name we're interested in. The super sexy device is also pictured posing next to the recently announced Nexus S. Of the three devices in the shot, there's a clear winner when it comes to displays. In fact, Phandroid's Rob Jackson even goes as far as to suggest that that 'B' might stand for "bright."

We're sure you don't need us to tell you that Steve Jobs and the folks at Apple have been crowing about the iPhone 4 and its Retina display since the device was announced last summer. We also don't need to remind you that the Nexus S packs a more than respectable Super AMOLED display. Check out this little spec tablet below. Logic would suggest the 'B' is the LG B, the 'S' is the Nexus S (or Super AMOLED), and the 'R' should be for the Retina Display.

LG has confirmed that this is one of their new phones and invited us to check out what they've got going on at CES 2011, so we'll be sure to fill you in when we hit Vegas in a few weeks.
