The list of what's new on Netflix in August 2022 is long enough to feel endless. As usual, the streaming service is releasing a ton of original series, movies, comedy specials, documentaries and family programs for your streaming entertainment. There's always something to watch on Netflix among the new movies and shows every weekend.
The big new release is the long-awaited Neil Gaiman adaptation The Sandman, which stars Tom Sturridge as Dream aka Morpheus. Spinoff Selling the OC spotlights luxurious real estate and office drama in Orange County.
In returning series, Never Have I Ever season 3 is back with more teen romantic hijinks, while Locke and Key season 3 wraps up the supernatural tale.
Atop the list of new Netflix movies is the vampire thriller Day Shift with Jamie Foxx.

New on Netflix: Editors' recommendations
Welcome to the World of Dreams. Neil Gaiman's beloved DC graphic gets a long-awaited series adaptation. It follows Morpheus aka Dream (Tom Sturridge), who can move between his realm and that of the awake, human world. Then, he is captured and held captive by the occultist Roderick Burgess (Charles Dance), triggering reality itself to be threatened. When Morpheus escapes, he must work to fix his cosmic and human mistakes.

Never Have I Ever season 3
It's official: Devi has a boyfriend! Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) is now publicly dating Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), after his romantic arrival at the school dance. That left her academic rival/boyfriend-for-a-minute Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison) pining for her on the sidelines. Devi will have to get used to being in an honest-to-goodness relationship, which comes with more complications than she ever imagined.
