5. Word Prefers Silverlight
The Office Web apps run just as well on the Mac as they do on Windows. You don’t have to have Silverlight to use the Office Web apps, but if you don’t have it installed, you’ll see this prompt to download it for a better viewing experience. We didn’t notice documents loading much faster on systems with Silverlight, but you might notice a difference in the clarity of fonts. According to Adams, Silverlight "lights up" the Office Web apps for viewing documents, which, for example, can give you a better experience when you pan through a file.

What if you don't have a New menu in your skydrive?
James, if you don't see the new New menu, you don't have access to the Office Web apps technical preview - it is a very limited, invitation only preview, but you might find it appears if you upload files to the Documents folder.
Bah, I have not used Office products for several years now and have not missed them one bit. This is not going to get me to try anytime soon.
