Architecture students at MIT in collaboration with professor Sheila Kennedy have created an innovative outdoor lounger that is perfect for a school campus. The 'Soft Rocker' is a solar powered rocking lounger that offers a place for students to sit back and relax all while charging their electronic devices.
The Soft Rocker utilizes a 12-amp battery that stores solar energy throughout the day allowing users to charge their devices even at night. When night time comes around LED lights installed into the Rocker light up the lounger giving it a cool blue-green glow.
Unfortunately the number of Soft Rockers that were installed in MIT's Killian Court were only for use until the end of last weekend but hopefully we'll be seeing more of the Soft Rocker in more schools and maybe even public parks.
