Picasa Image Details Point to Asus Nexus 7 Android Tablet

Though the tech press is fully focused on Microsoft's big unveiling of its Surface tablet, it's not the only thing that's whipping tablet fans into a frenzy. Momentarily forgotten with all the Surface madness is Google's rumored Nexus tablet that is apparently going to be manufactured by Asus. Thought to be appearing next week at Google I/O, there's not a whole lot of information out there on the Nexus 7.

However, there is now a lovely little treat in the form of photos on Picasa. Before you get too excited, this isn't a photo of the actual device. Rather, what you see below is a picture taken with a camera that Picasa has labeled 'Nexus 7.' The Verge reports that both of these photos have been attached to Google+ user Somit Bh's page and that the geo-location data indicates they were taken at Google Building 44 in Mountain View.

They're not pictures of the tablet, but they might be enough to tide us over until next Wednesday, when Google will probably show us the device for real. If you're really desperate for images of a much rumored, brand new tablet, you could always check out our post on Microsoft's new Surface devices. Not the same, we know. Sit tight! Google I/O is less than 10 days away.

I don't know about all of you.. But I am looking forward to the Microsoft Surface more than this.
I mean don't get me wrong, this "Nexus 7" will almost definitely beat it to the ground in pricing but as an IT student about to finish my courses I'm really excited.

I love this epic war going on, so much choice! SO MUCH CHOOIIICCCEEE
