Brentford go into the game high on confidence. They put in an impressive performance to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 at Molineux last weekend, before crushing Oldham Athletic 7-0 in their midweek Carabao Cup tie.

Liverpool, however, are now the only side which remains unbeaten in the Premier League, after Man Utd and Chelsea both lost earlier today. The only time they have dropped points is a draw against Chelsea and the goal they conceded in that game is the only one they have let in during the league season so far.

Brentford forward Ivan Toney looks to be coming into some form, having claimed a goal and an assist against Wolves last weekend. He is essential not just to this game, but any hopes they have for remaining in the Premier League. The four goals from Marcus Forss midweek will not keep him out of the starting 11. Playing against Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk will be a considerably harder challenge than what he’s faced before, though.

At the other end, the question will be whether the Londoners' defence can keep the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane at bay. It’s a task many Premier League defences struggle with. Fringe players like Divock Orgi and Takumi Minamino also impressed in the week, both scoring in the Carabao Cup victory against Norwich.

Naby Keita had to be substituted off for Liverpool during that game, and he misses out here, as does Thiago. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip and Andy Robertson all return in defence, while Curtis Jones replaces Thiago.

Here's how they line up:

Brentford: Raja, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Canos, Onyeka, Norgaard, Janelt, Henry, Mbeumo, Toney

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Jones, Salah, Jota, Mane
