Samsung Sends SD Card Through Death Machine

We know that flash memory is pretty tough and resilient, especially compared to magnetic forms of storage.

Samsung wants to prove that point a little further with a little viral video that shows one of its 16GB SDHC Plus memory cards going through some fancy durability and quality tests. Such trials include small bursts of flames, water, pounding magnetism and being licked by a dog's tongue.

It's an entertaining viewing that proves that Samsung's SDHC Plus line is tough, but most of the time our SDHC media reside inside considerably less durable devices.

Too funny. But will it hold up to a run through a washing machine?

No reason it wouldn't. I have put countless thumb drives through the washer. As long as they are dry before you use them again they will be fine.

The toilet drop test and the washer test would be the true test.

Any memory card could withstand that. Nothing happened.

Feed it to a beagle and wait for it to pass, then test.

Warning, Warning, Marketing Police alert! Invalid video. Must look way to deep into it. Warning!

Relax, it's just a fun video that might help them sell a few over priced SD cards.
