Created by the researchers over at Festo, the SmartBird artificial bird features innovative technology that has finally deciphered and replicated the mechanics of a bird's flight. Featuring an ultralight body with the aerodynamic qualities you'd find in an agile eagle, the SmartBird is capable of starting, flying and landing autonomously.
Inspired by the herring gull, the SmartBird features wings that can flap up and down as well as twist at specific angles.
