Fallout 4 Revealed for PS4, Xbox One and PC

It's been seven years since Fallout 3 and five years since Fallout New Vegas, but developer Bethesda has assured fans that the series is still going strong. Fallout 4, a new first-person role-playing game for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC will debut sometime in the near future and bring players back to the post-apocalyptic wasteland with healthy doses of both horror and humor.

Bethesda released a teaser trailer for Fallout 4, which seems to take place in the bombed-out ruins of Boston. (Previous games have tackled Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Las Vegas.) Like other entries in the Fallout series, the game appears to set a player down in an open world, then let him or her explore, do battle with enemies and complete quests for friendly characters.

All the Fallout mainstays are present and accounted for: power armor, radioactive zombies, references to a lost 1950s-style idealized future and even an adorable German Shepherd sidekick. Players can expect to explore shantytowns, abandoned countrysides, nuclear blast sites and even ride futuristic zeppelins.

Bethesda has not announced a price or a release date for the game yet, but promises that it will provide more information on June 14 at 7:00 PM PT. That's when Bethesda will hold its pre-E3 press conference, which Tom's Guide will be present for.

We should learn plenty about Fallout 4 at E3, so expect more news then. Unless, of course, the Big One goes off within the next two weeks, in which case you should be on the lookout for super mutants and alien weaponry.
