GameCrush Servers Overloaded in 5 Minutes

The site that allows gamers to pay for dates has gone down in smoke.

Yesterday we reported that gamer dating service GameCrush officially hit the Internet, offering a way for guys to date girls on Xbox Live for 400 credits a session. Today the service has gone down in flames, with the site claiming that it was "overwhelmed with interest, and have smoking servers to prove it." While the company behind the venture doesn't actually provide evidence, it's clear that it's innovative means in connecting gamers may have struck a nerve.

At first it seemed that GameCrush could have been forced to go offline by Microsoft until the Redmond-based company investigated the "hired help." After all, the Microsoft has worked hard to keep Xbox Live "safe and clean" for gamers. Paying hopeful porn stars to play games and talk sweet nothings seems somewhat out of line for the console network.

But after contacting the PR agency connected to GameCrush, we were told that the site received over 10,000 queries in just five minutes. Apparently each server associated with the service can only handle up to 10,0000 connections at one time. With that said, the whole network went crashing down, and now GameCrush is currently working on expanding the capacity. At the time of this writing, we were unable to verify if the 10k per 5 minutes estimation were related to page views, or actual sign-ups.

During the call, the negativity surrounding GameCrush was also addressed. Namely, the girls hired on to date gamers on Xbox Live. It was noted that their extracurricular activities were not directly connected to the dating service, however it's unavoidable to turn a blind eye to their other "hobbies." As an example, JadeRox works elsewhere online as an amateur pornographer, and even has a website that shows off her naked, feminine qualities. Needless to say, she's not sporting any manly luggage. She's even selling her used panties.

Of course, that should turn on any heterosexual male gamer. But considering they're hired off Craigslist, a site for notoriously making space for prostitutes and other sexual activities up for sale, what else will these gamer girls do for money outside the service? Maybe lonely gamers should put down the gamepad and head to a local club with friends.
