Samsung Galaxy S3 Receiving Android 4.1.2 Update

The international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is starting to receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.

Previously seen features only delivered by the Galaxy Note 2 has made its way to Samsung's flagship smartphone due to the update. The multi-view function, for one, allows users to have more than one app on screen at a time, providing an improved multi-tasking experience.

Page buddy has also made a transition to the Galaxy S3. It allows users, for example, to insert headphones and a dedicated homescreen will appear offering various actions such as a link to the music player.

Moreover, the Android 4.1.2 update includes an updated gallery application, accompanied by a notification panel that can be customized. Also offered is a swipe input for the keyboard and smart rotation.

Galaxy S3 owners in the United States, meanwhile, will have to settle for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the meantime.

They're really working hard to ensure there's not reason to buy any iPhones this holiday season. Can't help but applaud the effort. I was on the Metro this morning and the passenger next to me saw me using my S3 to read and post in this forum and said something to the effect of, "That's a neat phone, I like the screen...." I must it admit it was with a little childish pride that I told her what it was and showed it to her. I did, however initially think, "How could you not know this is an S3?"
