After Blizzard announced that the real money auction house (RMAH) for Diablo III was to be delayed past May, we were ready for another few months worth of delays. Fortunately, that's not the case. Blizzard's recently announced that the real money auction house has finally launched in North America. It currently supports U.S. dollars, Mexican pesos, and Australian dollars.
In order to use the RMAH, players must attach an authenticator to their account. PayPal can also be used, but the SMS protection feature must be activated on Blizzard.net. It's nice to see that Blizzard's not taking any chances, especially after having security issues with account hacks since Diablo III's launch.
Weapons and armor are the only things available for purchase at this time. Commodities will be included later. So, U.S. players, buy and sell with real money to your heart's content. Although, I don't expect that anything in game is going to be worth much in real money in less than a week.
