DROID PRO Preorder Starts Tomorrow

Verizon Wireless today officially announces customers can begin pre-ordering the upcoming business-class DROID PRO tomorrow (Nov. 9, 2010) online and at select Verizon Wireless retail stores. Pre-orders of the DROID PRO will arrive in the hands of customers close to or on the official Nov. 18, 2010 launch date.

Customers can purchase the DROID PRO in stores beginning Nov. 18 with a two-year contract for $179.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Verizon issues rebates as a debit card.

The DROID PRO is Verizon’s first global-ready Android-based phone capable of operating on CDMA and GSM networks. Verizon touts voice service in over 220 countries and 3G data service in over 120 countries.

Verizon packs the DROID PRO with a full QWERTY keyboard, 3.1-inch multi-touch display, a Texas Instruments OMAP3620 processor clocked at 1 GHz, 512MB of ram, a combined 4GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, a five mega-pixel camera and Android 2.2 Froyo. QuickOffice Mobile Suite tops off the feature-list for the business-class DROID for editing of documents on-the-go.

Looks like a really cool phone - it's really making me consider upgrading but I think I'll hold out for the 4G version. I'm happy with my Blackberry Bold in the meantime.
