Editor's Note: The voting is over, and the people have spoken: BlackBerry Priv is the big winner. The Priv captured 69 percent of the vote to the 31 percent that favored HTC's phone. Look for the BlackBerry Priv to reach the finals next week where it will face either the Galaxy S7 Edge or Alcatel Idol 4s.
We started with 16 phones; we’re down to four. It’s time see which phones will face-off in the Smartphone Final Madness next week.
On one side of our bracket, the HTC One A9 takes on the BlackBerry Priv. And in the other semifinal, we’ve got a clash between the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and the Alcatel Idol 4 and 4s.
Today, we’re focusing on the HTC One A9-BlackBerry Priv showdown. Both phones toppled some higher-profile devices to reach the Final Four: The HTC One A9 bested Apple’s iPhones in the quarterfinals, while the BlackBerry Priv sent Google’s Nexus phones packing.
This fight figures to go down to the wire. The One A9 boasts stellar looks, a handy capacitive home button and a fast fingerprint sensor that’s more convenient than what many other smartphones have to offer. Throw in a camera that performs well in low light and a scaled-back Sense UI, and you’ve got a phone that could easily find itself in next’s week’s final.
Not so fast, fans of the BlackBerry Priv would counter. BlackBerry’s foray into Android phones combines a physical keyboard with some helpful productivity apps and other software enhancements that go-getters have embraced. The Priv has taken at least 70 percent of the vote in both Smartphone Madness rounds and figures to be a formidable foe in the Final Four.
So who’s going to the final? We’re counting votes through 9 a.m. ET on March 31, so let us know whether you favor the HTC One A9 or the BlackBerry Priv.
