Update Dec. 10: Google is slashing $100 off the Pixel 3 and $150 off the Pixel 3 XL when you purchase either device from the Google Store. Plus, buy the Verizon Pixel 3 from Best Buy and get $200 off plus a free Google Pixel charging stand.
The $799 Pixel 3 is a hefty $150 pricier than its predecessor, whereas the Pixel 3 XL comes with a $50 price increase. While both Pixels are still cheaper than Apple's and Samsung's flagships, nobody likes a price hike.
Fortunately, there are a few promos out there that can help you lessen the price increase of Google's new phones smartphones. For reference, here are the list prices of Google's new phones as sold from the Google Store:
- Pixel 3 (64GB) for $799 ($33.29/month for 24 months)
- Pixel 3 (128GB) for $899 ($37.46/month for 24 months)
- Pixel 3 XL (64GB) for $899 ($37.46/month for 24 months)
- Pixel 3 XL (128GB) for $999 ($41.63/month for 24 months)
This holiday season, Best Buy is currently offering $200 off when you activate a 24-month subscription with Verizon a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL. This brings the monthly payment for the 64GB Pixel from $33.34/month for two years to $24.99/month. The 128GB model goes to $29.16/month instead of the regular $37.50/month. For the Pixel 3 XL, monthly pricing for the 64GB model is $29.16/month, reduced from $37.50/month, while the 128GB model costs $33.33/month, down from $41.67/month.
Even better, Best Buy is tossing in a free Google Pixel wireless charging stand with Nest device compatibility (an $80 value).
Verizon is once again Google's exclusive Pixel partner. For the holidays, you can save $200 plus get an extra $300 off when you switch to Verizon if you're buying a Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL. If you're already with Verizon, you can get $100 off when you upgrade or $300 off when you add a new line. The Pixel 3 must be purchased on Verizon's monthly payment plan and you'll pay full price for the phone over a period of 24 months and receive a monthly credits for your upgraded or new line.
If you subscribe to a carrier other than Verizon and would like to get an unlocked device you can take to any network, you'll want to pay special attention to what's going on at Google's store. Until December 22, you can save $100 off the Pixel 3 and $150 Pixel 3 XL which brings the prices of the smartphones down to $699 and $749, respectively. If paying full price up front is not in your budget, Google Store financing lets you pay $29.12/mo for the Pixel 3 or $31.21/mo for the Pixel 3 XL. Both payment options are for a duration of 24 months.
Google also sells the Pixel 3 through its Project Fi wireless service and has a holiday deal for new customers. Through December 29, when you buy a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL phone, you can get $100 in service credits from Project Fi. Financing starts at $33.29/mo for the Pixel 3 and $37.46/mo over the course of 24 months each.
There are some conditions to this offer, as you might imagine. New customer's must activate the device for full service and the service credit will be applied to their new Fi account. The new Pixel owner has to bring over an existing phone number from another carrier. To get the $100 or $150 in credit, the phone activated within 30 days of shipping, and needs to stay active on Project Fi for 60 consecutive days. Credits are applied in increments to your data, talk, text and device protection plan costs at Project Fi.
