A video leak sourced from a Czech forum showcases the yet unannounced Nokia X7-00 in action. The angular Symbian^3 smartphone is rumored to run on the same processor, graphic hardware, and RAM as the Nokia N8, widely seen as the manufacturer’s first “serious” entry into the capacitive touchscreen market. Reports indicate that the X7-00 will match its existing counterpart’s connectivity suite (Wi-Fi N, HSDPA, HSUPA, Bluetooth 3.0), but will “only” feature an 8-megapixel fixed-focus camera with Dual-LED flash.
Other apparent differences: the X7-00 uses the same “ClearBlack” AMOLED display as the C7, is probably the first quad-speaker phone (one speaker per corner), and will be available at a lower price point. Only the front of the gadget enjoyed significant face time, as the mystery user played what looked like a Symbian^3 version of Need for Speed: Shift, and showed off phone dialer and homescreen functionalities.
GSMArena.com supposes that the “official announcement should take place soon”, and have assumed based on rumors that the X7-00 will make a market debut during this year's last quarter—most likely in time for this Christmas. Only time will tell if all the information here pans out, so stay tuned for more conclusive updates.
