Apple seems to make out quite well by releasing a new generation of product year after year. We all know that there's been new iPod and iPhones every year, so the iPad of 2010 will see an iPad 2 in 2011.
According to Taiwanese-sourced Digitimes, Foxconn has been notified that it will be working on shipments of 400,000 to 600,000 iPad 2 units within the next 100 days.
The report originally figured that Apple would be gearing up stock of its next tablet in January, but the company is now holding it back until late February due to further software testing. That would still give Apple a month to gather inventory before a potential launch in April – if last year's pattern holds.
